Presentation: The role of MES in the digital transformation at NS Train Modernisation
NS Train Modernisation
NS Train Modernisation is the overhaul and modernisation company for components and railway carriages, with the company’s train wheel sets being overhauled in Haarlem. In 2017 the company realised a new building with new processing streets for the axles, with components such as wheels and brake disks.
This overhaul process was completely digitalised, and MES was introduced as conductor of the process. Inspection of the incoming axles determines the workflow through the overhaul process. The process consists of a number of operations that are controlled and registered by MES. The various analysis steps of this process, including production reports, OEE and Work-In-Progress, have also been digitalised completely, and this has created new insights.
ICT Group will present the design of the new overhaul process together with NS Train Modernisation, including the way in which the process has been automated, as well as the role of MES in order to realise a completely digitalised production process.
