Drainage systems and rain, overflow
- Preventing overflow by better use of the storage facility combined with an increase of the pump capacity
- Ensuring overflow takes place at a location with the lowest risk for surface water
- In areas where rainwater is pumped to the drainage system, the VGS pumps must be switched off during periods with heavy rain
RWZI and rain, peak load
Reducing the ammonium and phosphate peak load when it starts to rain by reducing the flow to the RWZI in such a way that the load is reduced, but without creating additional overflow.
RWZI and dry weather, DWA buffering
The storage of waste water in the drainage system and drainage to the RWZI at night. This results in a steady flow.
