With technology at the core of delivering care in radiation oncology, it is imperative that patient safety is not compromised. Integrating Healthcare Enterprise – Radiation Oncology (IHE-RO) helps to ensure a safe, efficient radiation oncology practice by improving system-to-system connections. This project creates the tools to test and validate the interoperability of these connections.
The project involves the development of Test Tooling for the data exchange in the Radiation Oncology. The Test Tooling validates interoperability specifications by so called “Integration Profiles” as described and specified by the Healthcare Enterprise in Radiation Oncology (IHE-RO) Technical Committee. The Integration Profiles provide precise definitions of how standards can be implemented to meet specific clinical needs. The IHE-RO Test Tools have these profiles implemented and validate systems connecting to the tooling. The Test Tool is built upon the DVTk platform, this platform is developed and maintained by ICT Healthcare. Currently more than ten different Integration Profiles are supported.
