Additude Sweden opens office in the Netherlands

Following ICT Group’s acquisition of Additude Sweden in January of this year, ICT Group’s recruitment division also entered the Dutch market on 1 September. Given the strong brand name and position in the Scandinavian market, the Additude brand name will be retained.

Additude Nederland focuses on three areas in the tech market: recruitment, temporary staffing with the possibility to transfer (semi-permanent), and the influx of young people and graduates of the Additude Academy seeking employment. By focusing on these three areas, the company can fulfil the need for both permanent and temporary staff. What sets Additude apart from other staffing agencies is its focus on the candidates. “Our aim is to encourage and support people in being successful and content in their job,” says Ger Erades, Business area manager of Additude Nederland. “We are committed to finding the perfect match for all parties involved, because as difficult as it is to find a candidate with all the right skills and expertise to fill a vacancy, finding someone whose personality also fits into the organisation and team is even harder. And that’s where we come in. By conducting in-depth interviews and making our candidates take targeted tests, we really consider every aspect of their background and personality: their hard and soft skills, attitude and motivation, as well as their challenges and weaknesses. This enables us to accurately assess upfront whether a candidate will perform well in a certain role.”

Apart from commercial talent Additude focuses on jobs for industrial automation and (embedded) software specialists. The company provides staff for management positions (CIO, CTO, CDO) and recruits staff for tech roles including architects, software developers and testers. Additude’s head office in Sweden employs some 160 professionals.

Additude Nederland is based in Eindhoven

Frederiklaan 10c (Philips Stadion, ingang 3)

Water 4.0: Major challenges within the Water sector

Inspiring and challenging Developer Day 2019

On June 25th, the ICT Developer Day 2019 took place. More than 100 colleagues were welcomed at Papendal. Because of the ICT Group’s strategy, this year’s theme was ‘Develop the Future’. The weather was fantastic and all colleagues were happy to meet each other. It promised to be a good day.
The ICT Developer Day is an annual event in which colleagues from the ICT Group share knowledge about innovative technical developments. Moreover, it is a great opportunity to meet colleagues in a sporting environment.

All colleagues were welcomed by Roy Jansen. He emphasized the importance of challenging each other and staying ahead of the game. Afterwards, the Fountainheads gave an amazing keynote. They are world famous in the Netherlands for the hilarious and energetic way in which they discuss trends and innovations. After the inspiring keynote, it was time for the break-out sessions. These sessions were hosted by colleagues from across all units and entities from the ICT Group. In these break-out sessions, colleagues discuss the technical developments in their discipline, hoping to inspire their fellow colleagues.

Another famous part of the ICT Developer Day are the sport activities. The attendees could sign up for one of the following activities: kick boxing, aikido, sheep herding and sit volleyball. All activities were spread across the terrain of Papendal. In order to get to know each other, all colleagues had to work together in small groups. After the sports, it was time for a well-deserved drink and meal. For the hungry colleagues there was a barbecue! In the evening sun we all enjoyed our meal and a good chat.

Many thanks to Wilbert van Dolleweerd for the photo’s.

Innovative SCADA automation for Vallei en Veluwe water authority

On 11 July, the Vallei en Veluwe water authority and ICT Group (ICT) signed a contract for the implementation of the innovative SCADA automation project. The project involves the standardisation of the SCADA systems of the water authority for 16 sewage treatment plants, 87 sewer pumping stations and various connections to approximately 18 different external data sources based on an entirely new and progressive SCADA philosophy: every user receives the most relevant information at precisely the right time on multiple devices and in several layouts.

The Vallei en Veluwe water authority used a Best Value Tender to select a party with the necessary demonstrable expertise to deliver the ‘SCADA standardisation’, provided that the project objectives would be achieved within budget and planning, and that the agreed quality would be delivered within the defined requirements and conditions. ICT came out on top, in no small part thanks to its successful involvement in various standardisation projects at a significant number of water boards in recent years. Another key factor is that ICT is a certified Wonderware partner, which means they have access to a large number of certified Wonderware professionals.

The user interface is designed with a User Experience Design (UX design); a design analysis method that focuses on the user’s experience and takes into account the various direct and indirect users of the system: in this case 19 different groups. The UX design offers maximum user satisfaction by combining the requirements and wishes of the user with the technical possibilities. Standard software is used to make the required functionality available. The current Wonderware System Platform© will be redesigned to ensure maximum effectiveness of the Operations Management Interface (OMI). In the preliminary phase, Wonderware Benelux played an advisory role and will continue to be closely involved throughout the project. The aim is to realise a state-of-the-art SCADA system, which not only incorporates the innovative possibilities of OMI, but also includes Augmented and Virtual Reality testing.

The preparation, selection and realisation phases have been completed and implementation can commence.  Completion is scheduled for the end of 2022. This project is the culmination of the preparatory work that has been carried out over the past few months by the Vallei en Veluwe water authority and ICT Group.
